Spin festival 3: Manip'ya'later

Hey spinners, twirlers, hoopers, anti-spinners, isolaters and those that dont conform to techy stereotypes!

With 3 weeks til spin kicks off in its new lush eco retreat location. It is near the beach in a bush paradise so its about time for a colorful, informative and caffine driven update. What have i and my amazing helpers been up to? Well here are a few color coded dot points to explain this self appointed question.

*FOOD- The amazing Allie and Craig have come up with a great menu, varied and healthy, that we will go down a treat. Baked potato's, nachos, pasta, sandwiches, hot and cold breaky and bakery treats are all included in your ticket price! (there will be lots of vego, a few vegan and gluten options too for those that have specified)

*COMPETITION- The lovely Lulu who is the performer organizer for rainbow serpent will be attending spin to judge a competition. We have two tickets and a spot at rainbow the following weekend to give away to the best duo act. It has to be remotely circusy but other than that do what you like! The act(s) should be 5-10 mins long and be accompanied by music. So get devising!

*WORKSHOPS- Yoga in the morning to start our day then a plethora of workshops not limited to but including all types of staff and poi, 3 styles of hooping, rope dart, meteor, juggling, handstands, acrobatics, flexibility, contact juggling and more.

*PARTY!- Friday night will be a renegade style show on friday night hosted by Reuben. Expect terrible acts, amazing tricks, puns, inappropriate jokes (youve been warned!!), sillyness and fun!
Saturday night will start with our competition, followed a few of our teachers showing off then a free for all fire jam and party with an awesome backdrop and funky tunes supplied my rhythmik!!! I will supply some fuel :)

So spread the word because we have some camping spots left. Please note there are no tickets sold on the door without prior organising so if you have some friends umming and ahhing poke them with a sensible object and convince them to join us. We will be doing trips from geelong to the site on friday at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm. on Saturday at 10 and 12. If you wont be able to make these please let me know prior or message 0402721278 over the weekend. Cant wait to play, share and create with you all!!

Spin Festival 2012 is a 3-day fire spinning and manipulation festival for all levels, held at Sokil Eco Arts Retreat from January 20 - 22nd. With guest teachers from around Australia and overseas, Spin Festival features workshops in Poi, Staff, Contact Staff, Hula Hoop & Hoop Dance, Juggling, Dragon Staff, Meteor and much more!

We are extremely excited to be spinning at Sokil for the first time this year - a beautiful campsite within a peaceful valley surrounded by the Great Otway National Park just 1½ hours drive from Melbourne. There are cabins for around 70 people on a first in best dressed basis.

We will also be having a Saturday night Spin Party this year with Melbourne DJ and fire spinner, Rythmik, playing the best tunes around!
